ACET is seeking Aircraft Avionics Mechanics?to join our dynamic Team in Bridgewater, VA.?



ACET is seeking Aircraft Avionics Mechanics, with an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License and experience to be members of ARL-E team.? The position requires the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance.??The A&P Licensed Avionics Mechanic will provide installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of all wiring on aircraft.



This will include:



  • Installation of avionics equipment per engineering drawings while following wiring standards

  • Perform basic soldering, harness build up and installation including wire stripping and crimping, fault isolation and repair of avionics system failures

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on airborne communication, navigation, auto flight, and other avionics components

  • Meet FAA guidelines

  • Ability to read and use schematics and blueprints

  • Perform additional duties as assigned



In addition to the above, the qualified mechanic will be called on to assist with aspects of airframe design work related to aircraft modifications and antenna/sensor mounting provisions. Candidates will be required to learn and know every step involved in the build process to final assembly and installation on the aircraft. Ideal candidates will also have a strong background in machine fabrication to optimize viable designs.


Position includes the following:



  • Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on the area/ project team.

  • Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments.

  • May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.

  • Addresses somewhat complex technical issues/problems using internal best practice and through

  • collaboration with colleagues.

  • Develops solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge, but are typically

  • limited in complexity.

  • Communicates with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.

  • Explains technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization.

All positions require the mechanic to provide their own tools needed for each position.? Tool identification, shadowing, logging, inventory and accountability will be performed IAW the site requirements.



  • 0-3 years experience

  • High School Diploma

  • Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings

  • Strong airframe modification process knowledge

  • Experience designing structural components, machinery, and sheet metal products

  • Excellent communications skills to interface with customers and peers

  • Strong multitasking and time management skills

  • Ability to address manufacturing issues from internal and external sources



Certifications Required:



  • FAA or A&P License?
